Alpha Psi Omega is ISU’s on-campus theatre fraternity, an aggregate of theatre majors, minors, and any student who loves the performing arts. We work with theatre faculty and the mainstage shows to support our students and provide resources for them. We also put on an APO show every year, meaning it is entirely student-directed, student-designed, and student-lead. This year’s production of Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead saw several students designing/directing for the first time! More funds will help APO to fund not only future APO productions, but other events and shows throughout the year, like our end-of-year Cabaret, where we pick a theme and our students can pick any piece to perform for their peers.
Not only would funds help us put on events and provide more performances and technical experience for our students, but it also helps us support our students when they travel. In the Spring semester alone we have the American College Theatre Festival, a regional conference with workshop and networking opportunities, URTA’s, a hub for grad school auditions, and USITT, a technical conference for tech theatre. Extra funding helps us be able to partially cover travel/boarding costs for our students so we can ease the financial burden of these incredible opportunities.
